About Me…
I am fortunate to have grown up in Galway City, on Irelands wild Atlantic coast. A mad confluence of people and energies. An outward facing and artistic place with one foot either side of the ocean.
I am an actor with over 20 years professional experience. My work encompasses Theatre, Film, TV, and VO work in Ireland, and London.
I have worked in both English and Irish language Theatre, TV and Film most notably as 'Ruairi' in Ken Loach's Cannes Official Selection film 'Jimmy's Hall', 'Petey McDonagh' in the multi IFTA winning 'An Klondike', 'Mike' in Making It' by Eamonn Norris, 'Gabriel' in Liam Ó Mocháin's 'Lost and Found' With Fíbín Theatre Co., Passion Machine Theatre Co, Town Hall Galway, An Taibhdhearc, Lunchtime Theatre London (Arts Theatre, West End), Theatre 503 London.
I received a ‘Best Actor’ nomination at the 2017 Richard Harris Intl Film Festival for the film ‘The Curse’ (An Mhallacht)
I am a former Artistic Director of An Taibhdhearc Theatre in Galway, I produced the Stewart Parker Award winning 'Idir an Dá Shúil' which toured to the Peacock in 2012. I was founding Artistic Director of Lunchtime Theatre London which produced shows in The Arts Theatre in the West End.
I have written, devised and directed shows for schools while artistic dierctor at an Taibhdhearc. I have directed for Fíbín Teo at the same venue.
I and have written the full-length play 'The Pride of Kilnamona' as well as the short play 'The Catcher' which was selected for Theatre 503 Rapid Writers Response scheme in London.
I have taught drama in schools, to youth clubs and to other professionals and have given short courses on camera and auditioning technique in ‘Essential Actors Workshops’.
My solo show (written/performed), ‘Zorro – Forgotten Son of Ireland’, will be produced by The Glens Centre Manorhamilton and is due to tour in 2023
I have travelled widely living in Europe and the US and spent several years in NYC which, outside my home town, remains my spiritual home.
